You scheduled your listing to be photographed several days in advance based on the weather forecast that you should have a clear day so the exterior photos will look their best. Then on the day of the shoot and the weather has changed. It is now overcast or cloudy and the photos will have gray skies. You could always reschedule but either the homeowner wants the home on the market now or the photographer is going to charge an additional reschedule fee.
So what do you do? Here at Mercury Images I offer sky replacements to make your photos look like it was shot on a nicer day. In Photoshop I can replace the gray sky with a blue sky that will make the photo more pleasing. Since the house was not photographed on a cloudy day it is important to be careful and make the sky replacement look realistic. The house will not have any shadows or bright sun areas so we need to make it all blend to make it believable.
Below I have before and after photos of a home that was taken on a grey day in February. The top photo is the before, the second is the after.
I photographed this home in April 2015 for Jonathan Noel with United Real Estate Lexington. 22 hours after Jonathan placed this home on the market he sold the house. Jonathan told me that the buyers made the offer sight unseen and based their decision to purchase this home based on the photos I took of the home for the marketing.
I receive stories similar to this one at least once a month from Realtor’s that can attribute professionals photos to quick sells.

Just finished the photos for this home in the Palomar Glade Subdivision where I did some elevated photos of the exterior. Check them out as well as the interior photos. And thank you Erin Hill with ERA Select Real Estate for hiring Bluegrass Exposure Photography to do the photographs for you.
I mounted my camera on a painter’s pole then extended it out to get the elevated photos.
